Plattco: Who We Are and What We Stand For

At one time or another, everyone who works at Plattco has been asked, “Where do you work?” Proudly, we reply, “Plattco.” For those familiar with us, we typically get a reply back somewhere along the lines of, “Oh nice, I’ve heard great things about that place” or “Give me your business card; we’ve got a project (or issue) we want to run by you!” For those not familiar with Plattco, we are then faced with scrunched eyebrows and expressions of confusion, followed by, “Huh? Where’s that? And what do you do?”

The short answer is simple: it’s our mission. We are a U.S.-based industrial valve manufacturer specializing in technical expertise and service to optimize dry material applications for customers globally.

The long answer is our core values.

• Industry-Leading: Yes, that’s right. We are the industry leader in what we manufacture. We invented the Double Flap Airlock® Valve and work diligently to maintain and expand our position in the markets we serve.
• Collaboration: We are good listeners. We bend over backwards, working with existing and potential customers to find solutions for their needs—whether for new projects or addressing pain points within their existing systems. Our commitment to our customers is unmatched.
• Craftsmanship: Our core design has not changed much since its inception in the 1960s. To this day, we still use some of our original patterns for our castings; however, we are continuously making process, equipment, facility, and product improvements to stay up-to-date and ahead of the game.
• Community: Our company is small—we have fewer than 60 employees and take up less than a city block of real estate—but the impact we have on our local community, and with our partners globally, is large. We donate and volunteer time and resources year-round to various local organizations and benefits, and we travel where needed to support our products and build our global presence.
• Passion: For our company, products, quality, and problem-solving abilities. We are the true definition of a family, and we are VERY proud of who we are, the experiences we have overcome, and, most importantly, where we’re heading.

Plattco has a long history and has been through a lot. We pulled through bankruptcy and paid back everything that was owed. As an essential component of various global systems, we adapted new techniques for doing business to remain open and continue production during a global pandemic.

Our commitment to our products and continuously improving technology and design has withstood the test of time—so much so that we are planning an expansion. Our entire complex is being evaluated, redesigned, and reconfigured for maximum efficiency and production. Most recently, we have made accommodations for new foundry and machine shop equipment, including a new Pillar Induction model MK-8 2200-lb furnace, two Haas vertical CNC mills (models VF-3YT and VF-11/50), as well as a new Haas model ST-15Y lathe.

We have also invested in Genius ERP software, which has completely changed the way all aspects of our business are conducted. With these equipment and software upgrades, we are investing in ourselves to better serve our valued customers.

In the end, we’re focused on what matters: producing quality products, putting our customers
first, and staying true to our values. Plattco isn’t just where we work—it’s who we are, and we
